302.5

That’s what I weighed in at over the weekend. More than three hundred fucking pounds.  Three bills.  That’s the most I have ever weighed — officially, anyway.  I’m fat, slow to move, break a sweat just walking down the block.  Way too over-indulgent lately.  Way to under-exercised lately.  Not a good combo.

So — I’m going back to what worked *really* well for me three years ago:

  1. Aerobic workout every morning.  45 minutes minimum.
  2. Logging ever morsel of food I eat into the LoseIt! app on my iphone.

Today is day three.  Sticking to plan so far.  Thought I’d dust off this old blog and start writing about it. Perhaps that will help keep me honest.

  1. Good Luck! Over the last 3.5 years I’ve bounced around between 235 and 325. Yep. Currently 280. Getting legs back in shape over winter to get back into commuting by bike in summer.

We had a weight loss challenge at work last fall, and I won it losing 60 lbs in 11 weeks. I’ve had a mild rebound, but am getting back on the plan.

    It absolutely is possible.

BTW, how is your Moto… bike holding up? I love my Surly LHT, but it is a slow bike.

Thanks for the comment… and indirectly for the kick-in-the-pants to take my plan seriously. The holidays are a sucky time to start a new health/fitness regimine, so I had a few starts… and stops… and then, just stopped. I’ve been meaning to dive back in. Here we go!

The (faux) Motobecane is holding up. I converted it into an intern gear hub 8-speed with upright handlebars… but partially disassembled now. I’ll be getting that back together very soon.

I like those Surly bikes. I have been thinking about selling and/or giving away all of my ragtag collection of bikes, then buying one nice all-purpose bike, and in fact have a Surly frame in mind. The Ogre.

Good job on your work to date, and best wishes on continued progress.
